During an episode of his podcast several years ago, Steve Austin interviewed Bill Goldberg, and the pair traded stories about being mistaken for one another during the height of the 'Monday Night War'. Goldberg, in particular, admitted he didn't take kindly to being confused for Stone Cold.

Now, Austin can see where he's coming from.

The WWE legend posted on Twitter this week that he was enjoying a meal in Denny's when someone else in the restaurant (Austin didn't specify whether it was a staff member or fellow customer) asked him if he was Goldberg. To his credit, Steve laughed the mistake off and joked that he'd "never been more insulted" on social media.

Such an error isn't as random as it first appears. Goldberg was heavily featured on WWE TV fairly recently, and he's been much more active than Austin in the company. It wouldn't be too hard for a younger fan to confuse the two, but yeah, they're lucky they didn't get a pancake to the face.
