2. Marc Mero's Playful Note For Sable
In the early-90s, Marc Mero was travelling with Buff Bagwell and DDP to a WCW show in Jacksonville, Florida. Hungry, the trio decided to stop off at a restaurant on the way to the venue, and they were delighted to learn the place had a buffet deal going.
That wasn't the only thing Marc had his eyes on.
After Buff and DDP spotted a young Rena "Sable" Greek, they encouraged Mero to "give her your best line". Totally unprepared to hit on anyone and put on the spot by his friends, Marc told Sean Mooney's podcast that he decided to get creative, write something on a piece of paper and ask the cashier to give it to Rena. She did, but Mero didn't get the answer he was expecting.
He'd written a playful note asking if Rena liked him. Beside the question, there were tick boxes for "Yes" or "No", and Sable decided to scrawl "Maybe" across the page. Once they got talking and shared a laugh over the childish game, Marc told her she had some tickets for that night's show and they hit it off.
