The WWE landscape was a little different for women in 2016. As much as things were motoring towards the equal opportunity ass kicking fans see today, it was rare (read: impossible) for indy wrestlers to find in-ring extra work with the company. That's why Britt Baker was so shocked by what happened on the 25 July 2016 Raw.

She'd been booked as an extra that day, and told Fightful that she and other female workers were enjoying catering when referee John Cone walked up to her to spread the news. Baker thought she was being ribbed by someone, and looked around for a camera, phone or some others laughing.

She hadn't been told about the Nia Jax match beforehand.

Luckily, like all good pros, Britt had her gear with her and raced off to get changed, go over the squash with Nia and reflect on her WWE television debut. Even after Cone's approach, Baker believed she was being set up for a laugh.
