Exactly one day after attending her father's funeral on 17 August 2018, Natalya was back at work and on the WWE grind. That was her way of coping with the loss of Jim Neidhart, and she'd go on to wrestle her first televised match back on the August 27 Raw against Alicia Fox.

It might not come as a shock to some, but that almost never happened.

Nattie, who was obviously reeling from the death of her dad, told Canada.com that she contemplated quitting wrestling because she didn't know if she could still do it after that. Without Jim, Natalya wasn't sure she'd be able to pull herself out of bed let alone wrestle another match, and the thought of moving on was frankly impossible.

Since then, she's returned to the road as one of WWE's senior female workers and will face Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Title at SummerSlam. Her career continues unabated. That was not guaranteed when she lost her father last summer.
