4. Bret Hart Told Ken Shamrock To Keep His UFC Edge

Going from punching other humans full force in the face to pulling strikes and taking care of someone must've been challenging for Ken Shamrock. His jump from UFC to pro wrestling appeared seamless, and yet it cannot have been easy. Ken needed some guidance, and he'd get it from one of the best sources possible.

The 'Best There Is, Best There Was & Best There Ever Will Be'.

In the middle of his chat with 411's Wrestling Interviews podcast, Shamrock said that Bret Hart pulled him aside and told him not to change much, if anything, about his presentation. Confused, Ken said he couldn't go around battering wrestlers for real. That's not what Hart meant; he wanted Shamrock to maintain his intensity and approach matches like a genuine fight.

That was genius thinking to Ken, and (oddly) not something he'd thought of. Upon joining the WWF, he believed he'd have to come up with a new character or find some way to fit into this wacky new world. Bret disagreed with that, instead feeling Shamrock needed to act like an MMA bad ass.
