Recently, Randy Orton was part of Team SmackDown for a bumper elimination match at Survivor Series. Teaming with Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles and Shane McMahon, Orton has tweaked his character this year and joined forces with The Wyatt Family. He wasn't worried about that when push came to the shove.

Laid out by a vicious Spear from Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon was clearly seeing stars. Leaping from the top rope, he was caught in mid-air by the move and smashed his head against the ring canvas. Taken away by medical staff, McMahon didn't look like he had any clue where he was.

During an interview with CBS Sports, Orton talked about being caught on camera telling Shane's young family that he would be alright. Recognising that he nearly blew his latest gimmick, Randy also said that he couldn't help himself from putting McMahon's wife and kids at ease.

A father himself, Orton also claimed he had second thoughts before approaching them. Knowing such a kind act contravened his ruthless character, he nonetheless pressed on and reassured Shane's sons.
