Winning no less than two Triple Threat bouts on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, The New Day escaped with the Raw Tag-Team Titles following both. At the stroke of midnight later that evening, the trio officially shattered Demolition's long-standing World Tag-Team Title record.

Intact since 1989, that 478-day stint with the belts has now been topped by Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods. Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow (who competed as Ax and Smash respectively), granted an interview to Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard this week to discuss the fact that their historic record had been beaten by New Day.

Before The New Day came along, it seemed impossible to imagine WWE having the patience for another reign like that enjoyed by Demolition from March 27, 1988 until July 18, 1989. Both Eadie and Darsow wanted to let everyone know that they are happy for Kingston, Big E and Woods.

Calling New Day an exciting young tag-team, Demolition also remarked that somebody had to break the record at some point because "that's what records are for". It's cool that the former record-holders are happy for the new ones.
