1. Ric Flair Was Terrified Of Working With Brock Lesnar
To this day on his podcast, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair still believes he could wrestle full-time if called upon by WWE. At 66 years of age, that's quite the bold claim. A lot of fans are under the impression that Flair should simply look back on a successful career, and give up any notion of ever returning to the ring. Incredibly, people were saying that the man should retire as far back as 2002. Most people know the story of Steve Austin's departure from the company in June of that year. Burned out and confused about his role in WWE, Austin decided to 'take his ball and go home' when he found out he'd be losing to Brock Lesnar in a throwaway 'King Of The Ring' qualifier on Raw. At the last minute, the script for Brock's immediate future had to be changed, and Flair was put in Austin's place. Contesting a number of matches against the beast-like newcomer, Flair told listeners to 'Woo Nation' that he was legitimately scared of getting inside the ring with Lesnar. Coming towards the end of his career, the legend felt Brock could hurl him around recklessly, injuring him in the process. To his surprise, the rookie was a consummate professional, but that didn't stop Flair from feeling scared whenever he walked down the aisle.
