Rewind to Payback in May and Sami Zayn was having the match of his career against real-life best friend Kevin Owens. Since then, Zayn has been more of a bit-part player on the Monday Night Raw landscape. Owens is WWE Universal Champion, whilst Sami is more of a mid card attraction.

This is a source of much frustration for one WWE Hall Of Fame inductee. Now retired, Edge spoke to Sports Illustrated about Zayn's current position on the company pecking order. In the Canadian's mind, Sami just needs one killer heel character to help make him. In a perfect world, he'd be that man.

When asked who he'd most like to face on the current WWE roster, Edge answered with Sami Zayn's name. The main reason for this is that the 'Rated-R Superstar' would love to be the one who elevates the underdog to the next level.

Most would likely never have picked Sami Zayn as Edge's most desired opponent if he was still wrestling. As it turns out, Zayn is the legend's top choice.
