1. Jim Ross Thought Randy Savage Was Unpredictable On Commentary
In 1994, Vince McMahon was in some serious trouble with the US Federal Government. His woes stemmed from steroids, and the idea that he had willingly distributed them around his locker room. Eventually, McMahon would be cleared of all charges, but there was a time period when he simply couldn't appear on WWF television. That's why Jim Ross was brought back into the fold. Previously, Ross had been hired by the company right before WrestleMania IX. He was then subsequently let go in early-1994. Due to the problems with McMahon however, he was rehired later that same year and called many episodes of Monday Night Raw alongside 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. This was something Ross greatly enjoyed, although he did note on his podcast that Randy was unpredictable behind the commentary desk. In other words, he didn't know what the 'Macho Man' was going to say next. This would appear to be something that JR liked, because he has also previously stated that neither he nor Jerry Lawler (during their classic working relationship) particularly enjoyed knowing match finishes. It's interesting to hear Ross discuss Savage's ability as an announcer, because it's not often something that's talked about when fans talk about Randy's career.
