10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Feb 6)
6. The Brass Ring Club
It's long been thought that a glass ceiling exists in WWE, meaning that there are wrestlers who can look up at the upper echelons, but can't ever hope to reach it, stopped by the previously mentioned glass obstacle. Vince McMahon has often rubbished such claims, saying instead that every 'Superstar' has the chance to become a main event player, should they work hard enough and prove to the company that they're worthy. In the case of names such as Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, this glass ceiling most definitely seems to exist. For the latter, who has impressed every time he's been called upon, upward mobility seems scarce, and Tyson Kidd's chances of headlining shows as a singles star seems to only exist in some alternate dimension. Another popular phrase is 'reaching for the brass ring', and it seems WWE are acknowledging their own system - Tyson Kidd, Cesaro and Adam Rose have apparently formed a faction, tentatively known as The Brass Ring Club. Whether this is a play on New Japan Pro Wrestling's popular Bullet Club stable is one theory, but it's intriguing that the promotion would let the team be called such a thing, almost recognising that this glass ceiling exists.
