10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Jan 16)
8. Chavo Guerrero Thinks Rey Mysterio Is Better Now Than 20 Years Ago
Over the years, Rey Mysterio has favoured an extremely physical in-ring style. Flying around the ring with reckless abandon, the masked man created a niche for himself on the WWE landscape which served him very well. In WCW, Mysterio was simply a mid card attraction. In WWE, he was so exciting that the promotion pushed him to the top. As time progressed, Rey was forced to alter his style drastically. Suffering various knee injuries, he was unable to perform at the speed he had done previously and departed WWE in February, 2015. One of his close friends, Chavo Guerrero remarkably thinks that his buddy is a much more well-rounded performer in 2015 than he was even during the height of his career. During an interview with Wrestlezone Radio, Chavo said that whilst Mysterio may not possess the same speed he once did, he is a better wrestler. Comparing Mysterio in 2016 to the incendiary performer of the mid-1990's is eye-opening, and there will be some fans who disagree with Guerrero's sentiments.
