AEW fans will recognise the stern face of referee Aubrey Edwards staring back at them. She was the one in the ring at Fyter Fest with Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin, and she was the one who recoiled in horror at that chair shot from Shawn Spears. There's more on that in a bit.

For now, meet Aubrey's other side.

In a fan chat session on Reddit, Edwards opened up about her past before getting into wrestling. Gamers rejoice, because it turns out ol' Aubrey worked on some games you might've popped into your Nintendo DS, the Wii U, PC, Xbox One or PS4 over the years. She was a video game producer and programmer pre-reffing.

In addition to console and PC gaming, Edwards also worked on titles that launched on iPhone and Android. She said she has credits on six games that made the cut, and a ton more that didn't end up seeing the light of day. Aubrey worked in gaming for 10 years before settling on the wrestling biz.
