1. Paul Heyman Never Thought WCW Or WWE Knew How To Book Raven
Appearing for a series of live Q&A performances in the UK this week, Paul Heyman was in Manchester on Wednesday evening for a show promoted by Inside The Ropes. The gripping stories told by the former ECW figurehead have been met with critical acclaim on social media.
One of Heyman's biggest success stories in the original ECW was the character of Raven. Jumping out of the cartoon world of the WWF, Scott Levy joined Paul's band of misfits in ECW and went about creating the Raven persona with Heyman. Today, the character is remembered as one of ECW's best, but it didn't have as much success elsewhere.
Working for both WCW and WWE, Raven never became a top name in either promotion. According to Heyman, that's because nobody could book Raven like he or Levy knew how to, because nobody else was able to tap into what the character was really all about.
In Heyman's mind, that's why Raven was never a main event star in other promotions, because they failed to understand the special nature of the gimmick.
