10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 3)

1. Jake Roberts Says Randy Savage Was Legit Angry At Him

Trying something different, the then-WWF presented 'This Tuesday In Texas' in December, 1991, a mere week after the promotion had brought fans the 1991 Survivor Series event. Withholding one of their biggest matches of the year for the experiment, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts met 'Macho Man' Randy Savage on the mid-week Pay-Per-View, one which didn't really do great box office. Regardless, Roberts and Savage spun an interesting tale during the bout, but it was the post-match shenanigans that had everybody yakking. Having previously attacked Savage with his literal snake, Roberts elicited mega-heat from the live crowd at 'This Tuesday In Texas', slamming Randy with a trio of DDT's, before unthinkably putting his hands on Miss. Elizabeth. Slapping the valet, Roberts would later reveal that he was hit with several real-life death threats for his actions, but that wasn't what he was most concerned about. This week, Jake said that Randy Savage was legitimately angry at him, even though the segment had been pre-planned, and he thought he was going to end up in a fight with the 'Macho Man'. This just shows how fired up Savage could get, as well as how protective he was over Elizabeth. What other big news and facts from this past week caught your eye?
