Eyes were opened when it was revealed that Cody Rhodes had asked for his WWE release in May of this year. Seemingly unfulfilled with his status in the organisation, Rhodes decided to ditch the Stardust character and strike out on his own. Since, he has taken several independent bookings, and is very much in demand.

Talking to Walker Nation in a fresh interview, Cody said that an olive branch from WWE has helped their struggling relationship going forward. As the son of the legendary 'American Dream' Dusty Rhodes, Cody wanted to document his father's life and legacy in written form.

WWE have granted Rhodes permission to write the book about Dusty, something that pleases Cody. Few are in a better position to chronicle the life and career of Dusty Rhodes than his own flesh and blood.

It's a slight surprise that WWE didn't simply elect to have their own writer put together the piece, especially given that Cody Rhodes is no longer part of the company. His involvement gives the book more credibility.
