On April 8, 2013, Big E Langston made his singles in-ring debut on Monday Night Raw in a match against Daniel Bryan. Accompanied to the ring by AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler, the future New Day member was working a powerhouse gimmick for the first few months of his main roster run.

Promoting upcoming WWE events during an interview with The Rabbler, Big E also described what it was like to work opposite the vastly more experienced Bryan on his debut bout. From there, he talked about an incident that occurred during his actual entrance, one that had him struggling to keep a straight face.

Flexing his arms and showing off his frame whilst warming up on his way down the ramp, Big E accidentally struck the diminutive female in the chest. AJ had been standing behind him, and looked shocked at the blow. Both quickly shrugged it off and continued walking.

Backstage, the pair shared a giggle over what had happened. Big E was worried he had injured Lee, but she found the whole thing hilarious.
