Just six months into his run in Ohio Valley Wrestling, Ken Anderson knew that he had a future on the main roster. That's because Paul Heyman, sent to work with fledgling stars in the WWE developmental league, promised him that he was heading for Raw and SmackDown sooner rather than later.

If there's one thing Heyman has always possessed, it's an eye for great talent. Most wrestling enthusiasts know the story of Paul's admiration for CM Punk, seeing star quality in the guy when others in WWE management couldn't, but it appears he viewed Anderson in the same way.

At the time, Anderson was known as Mr. Kennedy, a loudmouth braggart who came across like a rough diamond. Seeing the potential, Heyman outright made a guarantee to the wrestler that he'd be on the main roster before too long. Heyman himself would make sure of it, because he believed that the Mr. Kennedy character belonged in the big time.

Anderson revealed this fact to the NOW Podcast, also stating that this conversation took place on Heyman's very first day in OVW.
