10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 26)

6. Corey Graves Doesn't Miss Wrestling As Much As He Thought

Forced into retirement due to recurring concussion issues towards the tail end of 2014, Corey Graves made a rapid transition onto the NXT announce team, and is now part of the pre-show 'Kickoff' panel team for main roster WWE Pay-Per-View events, alongside the likes of Renee Young, Booker T and Byron Saxton. It was clear to see from the man's retirement speech on the NXT TakeOver: R Evolution pre-show in December, 2014 that he was pretty damn cut up about having to walk away from the ring, but upon being quizzed about not being able to wrestle again during recent interviews, Graves noted that he has surprised himself by how little he had missed working inside the ring. Also stating during the same media appearance that he's fallen in love with the idea of commentating, the former FCW and NXT Tag-Team Champion says he prefers to look on the positive side of things, and that being forced into retirement has opened doors which previously seems inaccessible to him in WWE. Graves also mentioned that he'd like to do more announcing with the company in the future, not just on NXT.
