10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 26)

5. Torrie Wilson And Sable Had Major Falling Out

Programmed together in 2003 and throughout 2004, Sable and Torrie Wilson seemed to have a decent level of chemistry during their on-screen interactions. Of course, many male fans enjoyed seeing them appear together, even though the entire rivalry and on/off friendship was designed solely to promote their subsequent photo spreads in Playboy magazine. It was a surprise for a lot of wrestling enthusiasts when Sable re-appeared on WWE TV in April, 2003, having been away from the promotion since May, 1999. In June of that year, the woman had filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon and the then-WWF, citing sexual harassment and other damages, but the ordeal was eventually settled out of court. That all seemed to be forgotten about when Sable returned in 2003 and played the role of McMahon's mistress (only in wrestling)! According to Torrie Wilson, there was heat between herself and Sable during their program, stemming from the latter feeling that Wilson was trying to steal the spotlight away from her. Torrie stated during a recent interview that she understands why Sable was so frosty towards her, because she had been the premier female star during her previous run, but things had changed significantly by the time she returned in 2003. Uneasy with sharing the limelight, Sable would leave WWE again in August, 2004, primarily to spend more time with her family.
