The artist formerly known as Big Cass has been reborn as CazXL on the indy scene, and he's in the process of rebuilding a career that went off the rails. In a video posted on DDP Yoga's YouTube channel, Caz admitted that a combination of anxiety, depression and alcohol problems contributed to his WWE dream blowing up.

There's no sugar-coating or deflection here. Cass/Caz was open and honest.

He said that he couldn't cope with the pressures of appearing on TV in WWE at the time. Stricken by fear and anxiety, he self-medicated with booze instead of treating the source of the issue and thus found himself making things worse. Problems started when Cass and Enzo Amore were called up to the main roster and debuted on Raw.

Looking back, it is possible to peer behind the energy of Enzo and see that Cass wasn't fully comfortable. His voice was shaky when he spoke over the mic, and his eyes darted over the audience. Those were signs nobody spotted at the time.
