10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 30)

3. Scott Steiner Thought The Last WCW Nitro Was "Terrible"

Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon, Simulcast, Nitro

On the last ever episode of WCW's Monday Nitro, Scott Steiner unsuccessfully defended the WCW World Title against Booker T in the show's opening match. The match (a short one at only 5 minutes) was enjoyable, but not for Steiner. It turns out he didn't think much of the program at all.

During an explosive TNA conference call, Scott said he thought the entire show was "terrible" and felt anyone backstage who had fun was idiotic. Steiner's reasoning for this was that he knew a monopoly was coming once Vince McMahon had complete control, and that he didn't think that'd be good for the industry.

Booker T has previously said that he was eager to make an impression during that final Nitro and hoped to land a spot on the WWF/WWE roster. Steiner wasn't as interested, because he had been in the WWF before during the early-90's and didn't like it.
