4. Jim Ross Feels Elimination Chamber Doesn't Work In PG WWE
Eyebrows were raised when WWE recently announced the Elimination Chamber was making a return, exclusively on the WWE Network. The event was enjoyable as a standalone event, but it's becoming increasingly difficult for the company to provide ample reasons for fans to care about these violent matches in the more child-friendly atmosphere of WWE in 2015. That latter statement is one legendary announcer Jim Ross certainly agrees with, writing in a blog entry on his website that the show had a strange vibe to it. According to Ross, the Elimination Chamber doesn't really work in today's environment - traditionally portrayed as a brutal, bloody battleground, the more recent Chamber bouts were exciting, but lacked the blood or drama of old. Giving praise to the first ever tag-team Elimination Chamber match, Ross gave his feeling that the Intercontinental Title match was a little less satisfying, struggling to really gain momentum with the live crowd or the viewer at home. It's hard to argue with JR here, because performers are more limited with what they can do inside the structure nowadays.
