5. Jim Ross Told His Wife He Was Going To Get Fired By WWE
In 2013, the lengthy relationship between WWE and Jim Ross came to an end. This wasn't the first time Ross had been fired by the company, but it did seem to have some finality to it. The wrestling world came together to rally behind the announcer, mainly due to the fact that it appeared his sacking came due to a WWE video game promotional event gone wrong. Whilst promoting WWE 2K14 alongside the likes of Paul Heyman and Ric Flair, Ross, the moderator, struggled to keep control over the event. Flair was noticeably under the influence of alcohol, and repeatedly kept butting in on the planned format to share stories. Fans seemed to enjoy what was going on, but those backstage at WWE did not. Shortly thereafter, Ross was released from contract under the veil of him 'retiring'. The Voice Versus recently conducted an interview with JR, during which he disclosed that he knew the sacking was coming. Receiving word that Vince McMahon wanted to meet with him one week, Ross told his wife that he was going to be released by the promotion. She didn't believe him, but the announcer knew the way his boss operated. Nonetheless, he took his medicine and left the company to pursue other endeavours.
