10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Mar 4)
4. Dolph Ziggler Watched Undertaker Vs. HBK II From The Crowd
It's no secret that Dolph Ziggler was influenced heavily by one Shawn Michaels. That's hardly a revelation, and in fact the 'Heartbreak Kid' had an impact on almost every wrestler in the generation after him, such was his skill level. Ziggler was no different, and some aspects of HBK remain prevalent in his WWE work. With that in mind, there was no way Dolph was missing his childhood icon's final match. At WrestleMania XXVI on March 28, 2010, Michaels faced The Undertaker at the grand event for the second year running. After the success of the initial showdown at 'Mania XXV, the pair were handed the main event slot on the show. Earlier in the pay-per-view, Dolph Ziggler competed in the 'Money In The Bank' Ladder bout, but was eager to see 'Taker and Michaels tangle later. Speaking with ESPN, Ziggler said he made sure he was in the crowd for the match because he wanted to soak up the atmosphere. Michaels lost, meaning he had to retire as per the pre-match stipulation, but the clash is regarded one of the greatest WrestleMania matches ever. Apparently, that was something Dolph wanted to witness firsthand rather than on a monitor in the back.
