10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (March 1)

8. "Jeet Jeet Jeet"

Jim Cornette has always had a motor-mouthed style that makes him one of the best wrestling managers and announcers to ever grace the industry. His knowledge is second to none, and his fast-talking promos turned him into a legend. When he met Chris Jericho and Lance Storm at the airport in 1994 though, things didn't go smoothly.

The Thrillseekers had no earthly clue what Corny was talking about, and they couldn't understand a word.

When Cornette asked the pair, "Jeet jeet jeet", they looked at one another confused. Finally, one of them (Cornette didn't say who on his podcast) piped up to ask what he meant. That's when Jim slowed his trademark bark down and politely asked again, "Did ya eat?".

They hadn't, and so went to jeet together. This story is one Cornette loves telling today, although it's not one we've ever heard him recant on his pod before. We wonder if Jericho and Storm thought Cornette was speaking in old-school carny or something.
