Bruno Sammartino was a big get for Triple H and the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2013. The icon had been outspoken against the company for many years, and it seemed an impossibility that he'd ever accept induction to the Hall. As he'd reveal in several interviews at the time, Bruno decided to let bygones be bygones.

His acceptance ruined WWE's backup plan.

In a chat with Wrestling Inc, Sean Waltman exposed that plan. He said WWE had held discussions with several members of D-Generation X about inducting them the night before WrestleMania 29. When Sammartino came on board, those talks stalled and were later cancelled so Bruno could be the headliner.

This year, before 'Mania 35, DX will finally get their moment. It's for the best that they didn't go in six years ago anyway, 'cause there's a high chance Chyna would've been excluded back then. Now, she can take her rightful place alongside Triple H, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws as a Hall Of Famer.
