Surprising would be one word to describe the lack of a John Morrison return to WWE since he departed in late 2011. Once one of the most promising names on the roster, the current Lucha Underground star (renamed Johnny Mundo) was considered a stick-on to make a comeback during last year's WWE Draft.

That didn't happen, but Morrison told Eric Bischoff via the Bischoff On Wrestling podcast that he'd never disregard his time in the promotion. In fact, Vince McMahon taught him a valuable lesson he still uses to this day even outside of wrestling.

A keen actor and writer, Morrison said McMahon once told him that creating an "emotional response" is key to successful television. Whether that's positive or negative, it's all about hooking viewers and leaving them feeling ownership over the product.

To this day, Morrison uses that logic and even makes use of wrestling terms like 'heat' and 'shine' when writing his own stuff.
