Recently, Bob Backlund has popped back up on WWE television. Still working the same deluded character he's remembered for from the mid-1990's, the legend is now aligned with Darren Young. Despite being 66 years-old, Backlund still keeps himself in top physical condition, working out on a daily basis.

Talking to Ring Rust Radio about his reappearance, the WWE Hall Of Fame inductee revealed a conversation he had with Triple H back in 2013. Upon being honoured by WWE the night before WrestleMania, Backlund pulled 'The Game' aside and said he still wanted to work matches.

Backlund said he isn't sure that Triple H was taking him seriously, but he wasn't joking around. Even now, Bob believes he could step into the ring on WWE television and give a good account of himself.

That could be the direction WWE want to take things in the near future, especially for occasional tag-team matches with Darren Young. In Backlund's mind, he's as able to go as ever.
