First appearing on screen in June, 2010, the 'Anonymous General Manager' of Monday Night Raw gimmick was an intriguing one. For over a year, the idea was used to make matches and control several storylines on the programme. Nameless emails were sent to a laptop computer at ringside, to be read out by announcer Michael Cole.

Kevin Eck was one of the WWE writers responsible for the angle, but he had a much different vision for it. Eventually, Hornswoggle was revealed to be pulling the strings from beneath the ring, a revelation that didn't do much to satisfy fans. According to a statement Eck gave to WrestleTalk News, that wasn't his original plan.

None other than Kevin Nash, then working for TNA, was supposed to be the big reveal at some point in the future. The story would never get that far, but Nash did make WWE appearances from the Summer of 2011 onwards, so the timeline certainly adds up.

Nash would have at least offered fans something more than the limp, "It was Hornswoggle all along!" swerve, that's for sure.
