Speaking of frustration, heads have been scratched for years over the lack of a sustained main event push for Dolph Ziggler in WWE. Inside the ring, there are few better than Ziggler, and he's also underrated on the microphone. If nothing else, he is viewed as dependable by management.

Fox 8 spoke with Dolph this week to promote upcoming WWE events, but also to discuss his fledgling stand up comedy career. That's something the wrestler is passionate about, but he was also quick to talk about where his WWE run has faltered. According to Ziggler, the character he currently plays was a last chance for him to prove his worth to the company.

Looking back to before the Dolph Ziggler guise, the man was a golf caddy for the dreadful Kerwin White character played by Chavo Guerrero. Then, he was part of the goofy Spirit Squad, a group of male cheerleaders.

In his own mind, Ziggler knew he didn't have too many more chances after those failures. He set his sights on becoming vital to WWE's on-screen product, something he has achieved by being so accomplished in-ring.
