Most wrestling fans know the story about how Steve Austin stumbled upon his famous 'Stone Cold' moniker. Living with his former manager and then-wife, Jeanie Clark, Austin was watching a documentary about a serial killer when his spouse encouraged him to drink his tea before it got "stone cold".

At the time, the wrestler wasn't having a lot of joy with the then-WWF creative team. After he had pitched a darker, more sinister character than his original Ringmaster guise, Austin was dismayed to receive suggestions like 'Chilly McFreeze' and 'Fang McFrost' in return.

On the phone to his good friend Brian Pillman, Austin was further infuriated when his former tag-team partner began ribbing him over the names. Clark told this story to Wrestling Inc, during an interview to promote her upcoming book.

Pillman had a lot of fun poking the proverbial bear, laughing mercilessly at Austin's misfortune with the creative team. He agreed that the names were horrendous, but couldn't resist winding his pal up.
