There's little doubt that the referee in charge of the Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains match made the right call by waving it off at Payback.

Medical staff arrived on the scene, placing Amore on a stretcher and taking him to hospital for evaluation. It was there that he was diagnosed with a concussion.

Backstage, Bret Hart said on The Sharpshooter Show that everybody was in a state of sheer panic. All sorts of things were being said, including an interesting assessment by 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair. Standing with Bret behind the curtain, Flair told the 'Hitman' that Amore had suffered a broken neck.

For at least a few minutes, that was the story flying around the backstage area, although those fears were swiftly allayed. Enzo hadn't left the building in an ambulance before everyone became aware that he hadn't fractured any bones.

Whether Flair had made a visual assessment himself or had been told by someone else about the possible broken neck is unclear, but it's true that he told Bret that it had happened.
