Ric Flair didn't make his initial WWF appearance until the latter few months of 1991. During his first run in the company, Flair only lasted until early-1993 before heading back to WCW. According to Bruce Prichard, things could have been astonishingly different for the 'Nature Boy' had talks not stalled years prior.

Looking to beef up the first SummerSlam pay-per-view as much as possible, WWF officials discussed bringing Flair into the fold in the Summer of 1988. For his part, the 'Nature Boy' was interested. Looking for something outside of the NWA/WCW, Flair wondered what life would be like working for Vince McMahon.

Prichard told this story on The Ric Flair Show podcast. If a deal had been signed, Flair would have appeared in a segment hosted by Prichard's Brother Love character. Eventually, that spot went to 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan when it became clear that Ric wasn't coming in.

It's amazing to think that Ric Flair could have been in the WWF as early as 1988. Who knows how much this would have changed pro wrestling history.
