It's long been said by Ted DiBiase himself that Vince McMahon wouldn't let him know about the 'Million Dollar Man' character until he agreed to sign with the WWF. Only then was McMahon willing to expose his prized gimmick to the wrestler, and DiBiase was only too happy to play it.

Revealed during an interview with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard, DiBiase would often dine at the finest restaurants when playing the character. That's far from big news to wrestling fans, but the fact that Ted had to claim back money he used as expenses certainly is.

Announcing his arrival, DiBiase would then flaunt his cash around the restaurant and Virgil would pay the tab of everybody in the building. Along the way, Ted would make sure to tell everyone that he was doing it because only he could afford it, whereas everybody else was dirt poor.

Later, the 'Million Dollar Man' would hand receipts to the WWF's accounting department. Afterwards, he'd be paid back what he spent when in character. In other words, DiBiase had to foot the bill first before the WWF would pay.
