The Hardy Boyz were signed to full-time WWE contracts by Jim Ross during the announcer's time in charge of Talent Relations during the 90's. Put on the road to gain experience, Matt and Jeff quickly found themselves bedding in and having some of the best matches on the card. That's when JR decided to reward their hard work.

Matt fondly remembered receiving quiet bonuses on his house show cheques after a while of killing it on the road. Telling Bleacher Report about how thankful he and his brother were of Jim's generosity, Matt said the extra money only made them work harder, which was surely JR's intention.

The Hardyz didn't get anything easy in the company however. They had to impress for a month straight before those bonuses started rolling in. Once they did, the siblings began to realise that they could make waves in WWE and become one of the better teams on the roster rather than mere bit-part players.
