Mere days before appearing on WCPW's first ever iPPV, Kurt Angle posted a blog to his official website. It's been over a decade since the Olympic Gold Medal winner stepped away from WWE, signing with TNA shortly thereafter. At the time, it was a shocking jump, although there was more to the situation than was clear at first glance.

Suffering through intense neck pain, Angle relied on pain pills, other medication and even alcohol to soothe his woes. In a dark place mentally, Kurt was battling addiction and personal problems aplenty. At the same time, he wanted to keep his issues from WWE and continue his wrestling career.

Throughout the blog post, it's remarkable to learn that Angle viewed himself as little more than a liability to WWE. That's likely why he decided to keep as many of the ongoing problems to himself as he could.

Now, Angle is happy to be open with his fans. Many knew that he was struggling to keep on top of things in 2006, however it's interesting to learn that Angle himself felt like a burden on WWE.
