There are few announcers with more experience in pro wrestling than Jim Ross. Going further, Ross is an icon of broadcasting in the industry. Working with everyone from Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler to Paul Heyman and Jesse Ventura, JR has gone on record before to say that he never enjoyed knowing much about the show he was about to present.

This kept Ross on his toes, meaning he reacted organically to what he was seeing on his monitor. It'd be easy to imagine that the veteran used his preparation time to work out how he could make the main event each show's focal point. During an Inside The Ropes live event in London alongside Jim Cornette, JR set the record straight on that topic.

Instead of using the most time to prepare for the headline bout, Ross focused on the card as a whole. Even at major events like WrestleMania, he didn't go into the show feeling like he had to give a better performance on one match over another.

This meant that the quality of JR's delivery remained consistent throughout each show.
