Injury problems threatened to derail Edge's main event dreams several years beforehand, making it all the more special when he was able to stand across the ring from The Undertaker in the main event of WrestleMania XXIV. 2008 wasn't the biggest of the Canadian's career by any stretch of the imagination, although headlining the biggest show of the year against a WWE icon must have been incredible.

Talking with Sports Illustrated, Edge said that he oddly didn't feel overwhelmed by the situation. This was the biggest match of the man's career up until that point, so it would have been understandable had he been nervous. There were few nerves though, Edge was simply baffled by what was going on.

Looking back now, he actually finds the whole thing surreal. Standing in the same ring as The Undertaker in the main event of WrestleMania, contesting the World Heavyweight Title into the bargain, Edge couldn't wrap his head around how his life had changed over the years.

There's something humble about that mindset, startling for such a big star.
