In a final piece of JR news for this week, here's a quick insight into the tough job he had as head of Talent Relations for WWE.

After WCW went bust and Vince McMahon purchased the fragments of his dead competitor, Ross was tasked with scouting out the best talent to bring in. Immediately, he targeted Rey Mysterio, and the pair came to an amicable decision. Rey, who was still under contract to AOL/Time Warner and could sit on his couch collecting a pay check, would do precisely that, heal up then join WWE.

On The Ross Report, Mysterio laughed as he recalled thinking JR was full of sh*t when he suggested both parties take time over a new contract. To him, promises that WWE would hire him once the old WCW deal was up were empty ones, and Rey didn't expect to hear from Jim again.

Ross was true to his word around a year later when he phoned to talk turkey and bring the high-flyer in on SmackDown. That caught Rey off guard a little, by his own admission.
