Even some of wrestling's top stars have suffered through the indignity of horrible gimmicks. On SmackDown Live, Becky Lynch is the current Women's Champion for the brand, a well-deserved title that could be considered overdue. Going back to her time in the NXT developmental system, the Irish 'Lass Kicker' had to overcome one seriously lame character.

In June, 2014, Lynch made her debut on NXT programming under the auspicious guise of a complete Irish stereotype. Played to the ring by a typically upbeat jig, Becky was clad in emerald green and also instructed to dance like she was auditioning for Michael Flatley's old River Dance show.

Talking during a conference call to promote WWE's upcoming tour of Europe, Lynch told ESPN that she never wanted to talk about the gimmick ever again. To this day, she hates the fact that she agreed to the character. Far down the ladder of importance in the company, she didn't have much of a voice.

Even when playing that role, Becky Lynch couldn't stand the idea. It didn't last long, which is a blessing.
