Lesson learned: never listen to your best friends. We're being facetious, of course, but Finn Bálor had to ignore the advice of his closest buddy when it came to his 'Demon' guise. Launching the idea during his run in NJPW before coming to WWE, the Irishman sought out the advice of Karl Anderson and asked him if he thought the paint was a good idea.

Anderson didn't, and even told Bálor that he ran the risk of being laughed at. This was a story Finn told Al Aribiya English during a recent interview. Instead of being supportive, Anderson was worried that people would laugh his mate out of the building and the entire idea would backfire on Bálor. History dictates that didn't happen.

The original 'Demon' was supposed to make people scared of Bálor though, not endear him to fans as a cult-like babyface. That's the case now in WWE, but it wasn't what Finn had in mind initially. It's a good thing he followed his own intuition and palmed off Anderson's suggestion that he abandon the concept completely.
