10 Wrestling Gimmicks That Only Lasted ONE Segment

3. Friar Ferguson

You know you're f*cked when Vinnie Mac's idea of an upgrade is to present you as a slovenly glutton who revels in his own disgusting nature. That was the fate of one Mike Shaw back in 1993 - he debuted as the "Mad Monk" Friar Ferguson on the 12 April Raw, then quickly changed to Bastion Booger.

Bastion Booger.

It's worth repeating something here. The WWF believed that naming someone after snot was preferable to their original gimmick. That's how much of a flop Shaw's early man of the cloth persona was. He got one televised squash match win over jobber Chris Duffy before McMahon changed his mind on the jovial Friar.

Ferguson ditched the monk robes, shaved his head, squeezed into a singlet that Hornswoggle would've struggled with, and off he went. Booger was born, Friar was yesterday's news and the company never name-dropped their religious brother again.

These may be the worst back-to-back gimmicks in wrestling history.
