10 Wrestling Gimmicks That Only Lasted ONE Segment

2. Hade Vansen

Friar Ferguson was overt, cartoonish religion-into-wrestling, but this was somewhat darker and more obscure. In fact, "obscure" is the perfect word to describe it. Hade Vansen's one-off promo on the 12 December 2008 SmackDown was lost to the sands of time almost immediately.

He was never heard from again after firing in this creepy, Undertaker-baiting speech.

Vansen, a star of the UK indy scene in the early-to-mid-2000s, showed poise and promise as a talker, so it's a bit of a shame that WWE cancelled any follow-up. Maybe they didn't think Hade had the physical stature to tear down 'Taker, or maybe Vince just didn't dig what he saw from this promo.

Why air it at all then?

Also, nothing screams "festive period" like some sinister dude promising to annihilate company legends, does it? Seriously though, who knows what would've happened had McMahon stuck to his guns and given Vansen a proper push.
