10 Wrestling Icons That Were Humiliated On Camera

6. Ric Flair

An ugly on-screen moment of a Vince Russo reign that had just as much hideousness behind the scenes, the stripping of Ric Flair's dignity to go along with his career being "ended" was a needless exercise in poisoned vanity.

Flair had ripped into the ex-WWE writer for the abduction of son David during an early segment on that evening's edition of Monday Nitro, but that escalated into a hair vs hair retirement match that put 'The Nature Boy' on the wrong side of the clippers. Flair's children (including a young Charlotte Flair and the late Reid) were ringside, which added to the grim scenes when Flair was beaten in just four minutes after daughter Megan threw in the towel.

With Reid, Megan, Ashley and even his wife Beth held back by Russo's R&B Security, Russo and heel-turned David shaved Flair bald as he lay unconscious and fire. They then turned their fire on Reid, who had his hair shaved until Ric could recover enough to make the save. Uncomfortable in the extreme, it was undersold as the show raced on to the next segment before the heartbreaking scene could even register.
