10 Wrestling-Inspired Movies That Would Be Better Ideas Than 'Crossface'

5. Vince McMahon Vs. The Justice Department

Vince Mcmahon Trial
PW Torch

Although it may be frequently overlooked, rarely mentioned and completely swept under the rug by the WWE, Vince McMahon's federal indictment and subsequent trial in 1993-94 could have put the company out of business and drastically changed the landscape of the entire industry forever.

Charged with knowingly obtaining and distributing steroids from Dr. George Zahorian to distribute amongst his employees, McMahon was ultimately acquitted, but not without incident. As well as testifying to taking steroids himself during the 1980's, the case also featured the high-profile testimony of a subpoenaed Hulk Hogan, whose role as the prosecution's star witness backfired when he testified that McMahon had never sold or told him to take steroids.

A good courtroom drama is one of those sub-genres that is always worth a watch when its done right, and one featuring the larger-than-life personalities of those involved in pro wrestling would certainly give the story a unique hook. And that's without even mentioning the shady tales of confidential informants, cover-ups and shredded documents surrounding the case to add to the intrigue.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
