10 Wrestling Matches That Carried The Highest Stakes

8. Personal Butler

Giving up your personal freedom for any amount of time is quite the risky proposition. You’d have to really hate someone bad enough to risk it all like that, but many feuds have gone down this way.

Fall Brawl '98 saw Raven request that Saturn become his slave if he beat him, which he was unable to accomplish. Christian Cage lost a match which placed him in the Main Event Mafia, and John Cena was forced to join The Nexus after Wade Barrett defeated him. But the most recent high-profile example of someone controlling another's life was the Bella Twins deciding to settle their lifelong rivalry (that only Nikki seemed to know about) by forcing the loser to become the other's butler.

Now we never saw the contracts to see what one could force the other to do, but it never seemed all that pleasant. There were drinks to fetch, clothes to launder and interference that had to be done. OR ELSE! Brie lost and it turned her into a really bad person. Instead of quitting, she went along with everything her sister said, including hurting other people.

She was abused for an entire month, and then when those 30 days were finally up and she was free to break away... well, she decided to stick around anyway.

Someone forgot to write an ending to the story it seemed.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
