6. Survivor Series 2001 - Winner Takes All

In 2001, WCW and ECW invaded WWE and quickly got their collective butts handed to them. Besides one successful night at the Invasion pay-per-view, it was a one-sided contest and became quite clear that Vince McMahon’s side was the superior team.

Instead of Vince just telling the invaders to politely leave or he’d have them arrested, he seemed to enjoy this non-stop massacre, and then teased them by saying if they assembled a team at Survivor Series and won, well, they could just have his entire company! Haha!

After decades of hard work, Vince risked absolutely everything he and his father and his grandfather had built for pretty much no gain. But he knew his opponents stood no chance. Shane McMahon idiotically inserted himself into the match, despite not being an actual wrestler. He then chose Steve Austin and Kurt Angle, two WWF guys who only recently joined his squad, and then Booker T (who couldn't beat The Rock in a handicap match) and RVD. Shane really should have ponied up for Sting and Goldberg. WCW might still have been in business had he!

Well, Vince’s team won the fight in nearly 45 minutes of action and then all the WWF guys probably had a drink after the show and enjoyed a good laugh about the whole thing.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
