10 Wrestling Matches That Did Not Go To Plan

1. Botching The Pinfall In The Main Event Of WrestleMania 35 (2019)

Although absolutely every WWE fan in attendance and the millions watching all around the world were all fully expecting Becky Lynch to win the historic Women's Championship Triple Threat main event at WrestleMania 35, few were expecting it to happen in quite the way it did.

That's because it wasn't supposed to happen that way at all!

An absolutely shattered Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey had just mustered up her last ounce of energy and lifted Lynch onto her shoulders for her trademark standing reverse kata guruma. However, instead of cleanly reversing into a slick and crafty pin, Lynch wasn't able to get Rousey's shoulders fully on the mat, but the referee counted the three anyway.

Lynch was always going to win the match, but this sudden ending definitely didn't feel right and reports which surfaced after the bout all but confirmed that this wasn't the originally planned finish for the contest.

Would we have seen Lynch, Rousey and Flair trade finishers in a legendary closing stretch? We'll never know.

At the end of the day, WrestleMania 35 went on for what felt like a bloody eternity, so perhaps this abrupt ending was a blessing in disguise.
