10 Wrestling Matches That Did Not Go To Plan
3. Goldberg And The Undertaker Nearly Kill Each Other (2019)
Fast forward 20 years and The Undertaker was involved in another high profile match which most definitely did not go to plan.
However, his previously mentioned clash with Mankind was cemented in WWE history due to its unprecedented action, whereas his Super Showdown 2019 'epic' with Goldberg was to be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Quite simply, the seasoned pair weren't in a position to put on the sort of match which they expected of themselves.
Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.
Goldberg set the tone by unintentionally hammering himself into the steel ring post, causing a nasty gash to open up on his forehead. Then 'The Phenom' nearly crushed his rival's neck with a c*cked up Tombstone piledriver. Big Bill went one better (worse) after this and dropped 'Taker on his head with a botched Jackhammer. Finally, this dangerous calamity was followed up by a disastrous tombstone piledriver attempt from 'Da Man', before 'Taker cut his losses and ended the bout with a lacklustre chokeslam.
Fans around the world were left wincing uncontrollably and this match will live forever as a reminder of just how much can go wrong when ageing legends collide.
